Restoring hope, transforming lives, building a better future

A Few Words

About Us

Care of the Estranged Foundation (COTE) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that seeks to build ‘social profit’ in the areas of Health and Education through its social welfare projects aimed at improving the quality of Life and Healthcare in Nigeria.
COTE was established in April 2004, by young people, who were grossly dissatisfied with the nonchalant attitude displayed towards people ( especially the poor, the sick and the Unemployed); who were faced with a lot of hardships as a result of economic and health challenges, particularly those Estranged from family members or passing through emotional trauma…

Our Programmes

01

COTE Free Healthcare Delivery Services

This program began in August 2005 at Lawanson, Surulere, Lagos. It is offered in collaboration with health institutions, both Government and Private hospitals; in ensuring that free healthcare delivery services are rendered to the Estranged of the society especially those who can barely afford it.

02

Ysme (Youths engaged in Small Measurable Enterprises)

This program is offered in partnership with our social enterprises, and other companies, in order to deliver entrepreneurial as well as hands-on training for our National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members during their mandatory one year Service to the nation. It is focused on helping these young professionals to become entrepreneurs and service leaders.

04

COTE 401 Course - Life After School

This began as a non-academic course sometime in February 2019 (ie 6 years ago) with Final Year Students at University of Nigeria, Nsukka. It is focused on teaching Employability, Entrepreneurial and Life skills to would-be graduates; as a preparatory course to real-life issues and workplace expectations. It has impacted over 300 students since inception with some successful testimonials too. We look forward to adding more value to the lives of these youths in other higher institutions within the country, through positive collaborative efforts in the future.

05

Centre for Learning and Service (CELS)

This program is offered in collaboration with successful artisans and business professionals in training our in- school and out-of-school youths (even drop-outs) with the necessary Vocational, Digital and Entrepreneurial Skills that will help them to contribute their own positive quota to the economy of the nation.
We are also looking for funds to build this Centre in the nearest future. We have the architectural design for the project ready since March 2009 and would partner with any willing organization/ company to actualize as well as replicate this Centre within various communities in the country.

  • To accommodate and engage them in sustainable Integrated Organic Agribusinesses, as a way of promoting healthier food products and exports in the country.
  • To conduct seminars and workshops on key global issues like Climate change, Global warming, Waste-to-Wealth, Renewable Energy etc
  • To raise funds for the sustainability of the Foundation.
